Be Woke Be Anti-racist - Rugby Sevens 2022
To increase awareness of the existence of racism and how to Be Anti-racist, the Be Woke Be Anti-racist Rugby Sevens 2022 event was created and brought to life in partnership with local Shepparton Rugby Union Club, state affilitiation association – Rugby Victoria and Greater Shepparton City Council.
The event saw over 10 teams register and come from around the state and neighbouring boarders to enjoy a full day of Rugby Sevens, with local artists and community.
The Be Woke Be Anti-racist Ambassadors – Shepparton Bulls were proactive prior to the event occuring through workshops and working together throughout their season with local Yorta-Yorta and Bangarang Elders to better understand First Nation culture and how racism has effected them over the years and what they can do to ensure that they are able to call it out when they see, hear it on the field and off the field.
Here are some images from the day.
